This tree here is a Chinese Pistache tree. It’s a Keith Davey variety, and the reason why we like to use this tree is because one, it produces a lot of good shade for commercial properties. It works really well in residential markets. The root system is not as invasive as a lot of species can be, as far as tearing up the asphalts and curb and gutters around you. It produces some of the most beautiful color in the fall. The leaves turn yellow and orange, and when the sun is just coming up, they are just strikingly beautiful and as the sun is going down, they just almost glow-in-the-dark, which is a beautiful, beautiful tree.
This is a very young tree obviously, in a 15-gallon container, but you can see the tree directly behind it is also a Chinese Pistache, it’s probably about 20 – 25 years old.
This tree here is probably the best tree as far as disease resistant, insect resistant, it has the fewest problems of any tree out there. The only thing that this tree does get is maybe leaf scorch which is a new disease that is out there. If you contact our tree division, we can take care of it for you.
